Remember that time when !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ? PS9 said !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . So of course I went for the much crazier idea.

You see, there’s this thing a few blokes do when they do engines swaps. They take two Suzuki Hayabusa engines or other hi-power superbike inline-4 and do some stuff with until they have a V8. Yes, you should get what I want to do here.
I want to grab a hold of two BMW M12 engines and put them together to create a 3-liter V8 I can call the M24. Or get two modern Bimmer straight-4 gins, tinker ‘round it until it’s like the M12, and then put them together until I have an M24. Oh, and equip it with KERS to be sure.
One thing that will change, however, will be the fact that I’ll shear off the turbochargers in place of using the KERS (the kind that recovers energy both during braking AND accelerating) to fill in blank spots in the torque curve. And I like my shrieking engines turbo-lag and turbo-whine free.
The next question will be what kind of car will such an engine go. I was thinking something like an open wheeler bigger than this (in secret, I want my dream engine to go in that car):
but smaller than this:
though it’s also nice to have it in, say, a 3-series ZHP or a Nissan Maxima or some other beige commuting appliance, though it’d be fun to see such an engine in a Ferrari California.
But now that I thought about it, it’d be better to use the engine as a boat motor.

Nothing is impossible, just expensive.

Does the BMW M12 use split jugs like a motorcycle engine? The reason motorcycle engines can be made int V8s is because the cylinders are separate from the crankcase. That way all you need is a block and crank with longer journals to accomodate 2 rods.
If it’s not constructed like that you need to fabricate a custom block. It’s been done before but it’s obscenely expensive.
Also, put it in a DSR Chassis!

And nerve-wracking, too, especially because I wanted the engine to be reliable, the kind that doesn’t need a complete rebuild every 30k miles.
